Gate Valve

ANIX Gate valves manufactured and distributed by ANIX Valve USA are made of Cast steel, CF8M stainless steel, 316 stainless steel, WCB carbon steel or Forged steel material which include class 150# , class 300#, class 600#  for Flanged gate valves and class 800 for Threaded Gate valves.

Summary of gate valve

An industrial gate valve is a linear motion valve used to control the flow of liquids and gases. The gate valve gets its name because it has a movable gate that opens and closes to control the flow. When the gate is in the open position, fluid can flow freely through the valve, but fluid is blocked from flowing through when the gate is in the closed position. Industrial Gate Valve are one of the most common types of valves used in industry today because they are very versatile and can be used for various applications.

Gate valves control the flow of liquids and gases through pipes and other types of tubing. Industrial gate valves are used in various applications, including oil and gas production, chemical processing, power generation, and water treatment. Gate valves are an essential part of many industrial operations. They come in various sizes, pressure ratings, and materials to meet the needs of different applications.

How Gate Valves Function

A gate valve is designed for a fully open and or a fully closed service. They act as an isolating valve since its only function is either to stop or to let the flow go through. It allows minimal dirt from entering the pipe. Gate valves have 2 main parts which are parallel and wedge-shaped. For the parallel shape, it’s a flat gate valve with 2 parallel seats that has a sharp edge at the bottom. The wedge shape valve has 2 inclined seats but the gate tends to mismatched.

There are 3 types of gate valves: the solid taper wedge, the flexible wedge, and the split wedge or parallel disk valve.  A solid tape wedge is the most common.  Due to its simplicity and strength, it can be installed in any position. It's good for all types of fluid, but this type of design does have some leakage. A flexible wedge is a one piece solid disk with a cut around the perimeter, which is good for thermal binding. It has better seat alignment which helps prevent leaks and are mostly used in steam systems. A split wedge has 2 discs and holds together with a special mechanism which allows a disc that's out of alignment to adjust back into place while the other disc holds up everything. The parallel disk have 2 discs that are spring loaded. They are mostly used in non-condensing gasses and liquids at normal and high temperatures without the valve being affected.

Benefits of an Industrial Gate Valve

Industrial gate valves have many benefits, including the following:

  •        They are durable and have a long lifespan.
  •        They are easy to operate and require little maintenance.
  •        They offer good flow control and can be used to regulate the flow of liquids and gases.
  •        They are available in various materials, including cast iron, steel, brass, and bronze.

The material of the valve is important to consider because it needs to withstand the conditions it will be exposed to. For example, suppose the valve will be used in an acidic environment. In that case, you'll need to choose a valve made from acid-resistant material. The size of the valve is also important to consider. It would help if you made sure that the valve is big enough to handle the flow rate of the fluid it will be controlling. The pressure rating of the valve is another important factor to consider. It would be best to make sure that the valve can withstand the pressure of the fluid it will be controlling. The temperature rating of the valve is also important to consider. It would be best to make sure that the valve can withstand the fluid temperature it will be controlling.
